face the ph phacts: part 1

This is an important post to me.  I feel like I turned my health around last year by taking a look at my daily eating habits.  I’ve always tried to eat healthy foods, but I wasn’t aware of how many foods I was eating were acid-forming.  Acid equals inflammation in the body if not balanced with equal amounts of alkaline foods. Inflammation can cause any number of ailments from heart disease, arthritis, and diabetes to acne, chronic fatigue and digestive issues.  Take a look at what you eat daily and make small changes to bring your body back into balance.  Eat less acid producing foods and more alkaline. Learn how small steps can create big changes.  I’m not saying you have to give up all your favorite foods, just make sure you aren’t eating them daily and unconsciously.  Let’s start with breakfast

I challenge you to keep a diary of what you are eating and see what the balance of acid to alkaline is.  You may be in for a surprise, like I was.  Let me know in the comments below.  p.s. I made a mistake on the video. Yogurt is neutral, not acid forming, because of the cultures.

And for people who don’t own juicers, Whole Foods’ juice bar can blend up whatever you want.

Maya, Since I began adding more green drinks to my diet I feel so much better. I was even drinking my morning ‘greenie’ while watching your video. My fibromyalgia doesn’t seem to bother me as much as it used to. I feel the greens/veggies are as important to my ‘motion is lotion’ as pilates is.
Thank you so much for all you do.

    Hi Maya,
Just was wondering why you used a juicer rather than the vitamix to make your drink. What is the difference?

Great question, Cindy. I use my juicer and my Vitamix(blender) for different reasons. Juicing extracts the pulp, (fiber) and gives me instant energy, is directly absorbed into my bloodstream and allows me to pack in a lot more vegatables and nutrients. It is like a booster shot of alkalinity and nutrition, not a meal substitute. With the blended smoothie, I get fiber and it is assimilated more slowly, leaving me feeling full and the fiber is a plus I will often have a large blended smoothie as my lunch. My juices are an afternoon or morning pick me up. II don’t really enjoy blended carrots but love juiced carrots and the vitamin A power punch.

I am such a vegetable lover that this is right up my alley. Thanks Maya
